It is with deep regret that the trustees of North East Help Link have made the difficult decision to close North East Help Link after 30 years of continuing the work of our founder, Walter Wilkinson.
Whilst we have been unable to operate the street kitchens safely during the pandemic, the trustees agreed to use resources and funds to assist like-minded charities during this period, ensuring the most vulnerable are helped. Having monitored the situation and taken into account the safety of volunteers and clients sadly, we, the trustees, have come to the conclusion that we are unable to safely continue our work in the same format as pre-pandemic levels of service.
We are grateful for your contributions, support and prayers over the years, without which our work would not have been possible.
Closing has not been an easy decision but we do it in the knowledge that many other organisations will continue this vital work within the local communities.
